5 most in-demand programming languages for 2018

1. Java
Reinforces Object-oriented principles (OOP) used in modern languages including C++, Perl, Python, and PHP. Java is used mainly for creating server side apps, video games, and mobile apps. It’s the core of native Android apps and is enormously popular among developers.
The Java job postings for 2018 have been decreased, but it has managed to top the list.






2. Python
Python is a dynamic and general-purpose language that emphasizes code readability and enables developers to use fewer lines of code (in comparison with Java or C++). It supports multiple programming paradigms and has a large standard library.
Developers love this language for clear syntax, good OOP support and great shortcuts.
In case of Python, an increase of about 5,000 postings was recorded. Due to its increased use in a variety of purposes like machine learning, research, data mining, and web development, it’s adoption is on the rise.


3. JavaScript
JavaScript, allows you to build interactive websites, and is truly an essential web tool technology, alongside HTML and CSS, because most browsers in some way implement JavaScript.The language of the web, has maintained the number of job postings and the decline of this in-demand programming language in near future doesn’t seem like a possibility.




4. C#
C# is the best language to use for building apps native to the Microsoft platform, and is further the recommended language for developing games using the Unity Game engine.C# witnessed a decline in demand. However, due to its heavy usage in fields like game development, it has been able to find a place in this list of most in-demand languages.



5. PHP
PHP is widely used thanks to Wordpress. This scripting language used on the server side finds extensive usage in WordPress and web development.

 80% of the top 10 million websites use PHP in some sort of way, including Facebook and Wikipedia.
